AP East Delhi (AOP East City) was started in 1995 as EDPF. A sapling planted in 1995 has become a fruit-bearing tree. The desire to know each other, learn from each other, and learn in a group was the motivating force to start EDPF. A gathering of 10 pediatricians was held at the K.D.Medicare centre, Kiran Vihar, and the EDPF was launched. The hallmark of the subsequent meetings was to have quality programs, and only the distinguished speakers were invited.
This remained the magnet to attract more and more members. The idea was well received by the other specialties, and other forums were also formed. The model was emulated in other areas of Delhi, and the North – West – Central & South Delhi forums were formed.
Subsequently, all of them have been converted into the IAP city branches. There was no means of digital messaging at that time, and letters had to be sent for communication. The photocopied text of the lectures was also provided in the subsequent meetings (the contents for this write-up have also been taken up from one such brochure). This all was done from a one-time membership charge of Rs. 300, which lasted for almost a decade.
In addition, EDPF was only the second donor for the construction of IMA EDB Bhavan. By the year 2001, an executive was formed, which conducted many prestigious programs like the NALS course at SHANTI MUKUND HOSPITAL in 2001.
The association grew from strength to strength and finally became an IAP branch. However, an “EDPF oration” is still delivered in the annual day of AOP.
The aim and objectives for which the Society is established are as under:

IIM Past President
